Members compete in events

Vancouver BC hosted the 2009 World Police and Firefighter games this year. With over 10,000 athletes competing from 53 countries, this was the largest multi sport event in history. Larger than any of the past Olympic games! IAFF local 1983 members James Willson, Mike Hammer and David Storey competed in the team triathlon along with over 300 other law enforcement officers and firefighters from around the world. Mike Hammer also competed in the mountain bike race held in Whistler BC earlier in the week. The games are played over a ten day period and are held every 2 years in different parts of the world. See you all in New York in 2011!
